More model informationAn ancient Egyptian statuette of the Apis bull, one of the most important animal deities in Egypt. A living representative of the Apis bull was kept at Memphis, and he participated in particular festivals relating to fertility and regeneration. Bull statuettes like this one were common dedications in the Late and Ptolemaic Periods and often depict the bull with bird and scarab markings and wearing the sun disk.
