Here is the 4th model of the natural history collection.
This molding represents the right anterior paw of Pyros, a male brown bear from Slovenia which was introduced in the mountains of the Pyrenees on May 2, 1997 to restore the population of this animal that only counted then 6 individuals.
We are on May 2, 2017: Pyros is now 29 years old and the Pyrenees now count 39 individuals of brown bear!
You can discover this molding at the “Bear’s House” in Saint-Lary-Soulan, France.
Many thanks to Aurélie and Jacques for their hospitality!
