Brown Chalet - Edelweiss Swiss Village

Edelweiss Swiss Village was home to the Swiss Mountain Guides who opened up the Canadian Rockies to mountaineering during the first decades of the 20th century. In 2022, the Digital Heritage Preservation Research Group at the University of Calgary began working with the Swiss Edelweiss Village Foundation to preserve the six chalets that comprise the site. The point cloud for this chalet was captured using a GeoSlam Horizon with Zeb camera. While not as high in resolution as our Z + F 5010X and Leica BLK360, the GeoSlam enabled us to capture the interior and exterior of this chalet in far less time. Stay tuned as we begin to create a new space for the Edelweiss Swiss Village in our Digital Heritage Archive.
