More model informationA late Iron Age - early Roman iron bound wooden bucket found whilst excavating a pit that also contained complete pottery vessels.
The bucket was block lifted and micro excavated in the lab. During the micro excavation, cremated remains were found inside the bucket.
The model shows the inside of the bucket with remnants of the iron hoops and nails that would have held the wooden staves in place. Most of the wood did not survive due to the conditions it was buried in, however, a few small pieces can be seen.
