More model informationThis bust is the roman copy of a IVth century BC hellenistic original work. Originally, the statue of the goddess probably decorated the ancient theatre’s scene wall. A recent hypothesis from specialists restores it in Venus said « Genitrix » (from Latin ‘mother’), both protective and founding of « gens Iulia » ‘s dynasty, to which Julius Caesar belonged.
