More model informationBYMS 2039 was one of 150 Lend-Lease minesweepers provided to the Royal Navy by the United States during War II. Constructed by the Barbour Boat Works of New Bern, North Carolina from May 27th to October 14th, 1942, BYMS 2039 served in Minesweeping Flotillas 157 and 163 under the Nore Command, and participated in the D-Day Normandy landings and possibly the Battle of the Scheldt. She came equipped to counteract moored contact mines, magnetic mines, and acoustic mines.
