Fragment of a decorated thrower with remains of ocher found in the Abrigo de la Viña cave, La Manzaneda, Nalon river basin, site with rock art. Example of portable art with Magdalenian characteristics in a hunting weapon that was probably reused as an ornamental object after its fracture. It is made in the distal part of a deer lamp with a flattened morphology forming the head of a horse, one of the main hunting resources in the Cantabrian Upper Paleolithic. The maximum measurements are, in millimeters, 74 x 35 x 14 (according to publications by Antonio Juaneda, one of the discoverers of the site and the piece, soon to be delivered to the local Archaeological Museum). In subsequent excavations at the site, another example of portable art with same design on hiodes bone was found.
