Cabeza de una escultura de cerámica de joven griego imberbe con pelo rizado. Esta estética la puso de moda Alejandro Magno en el siglo IV a. C. Lleva píleo, sombrero de fieltro o de cuero de ala corta. Este tipo de terracota se conoce como “pastor beocio”. Se puede fechar entre 350 y 325 a. C. Procede de un probable templo de los siglos V-IV hallado en la plaza de la Iglesia nº 4 de Villajoyosa. (Inv. 011758; altura 4,5 cm.).
GREEK TERRACOTTA
Head of a ceramic sculpture of a young beardless Greek with curly hair. This look became fashionable after Alexander the Great in the fourth century BC. He wears a pileus, which is a felt or leather short-brimmed hat. This type of terracotta is known as a “Boeotian shepherd”. It can be dated between 350 and 325 BC. It was found in a probable temple from the 5th and 4th c. BC found in Plaza de la Iglesia nr. 4 of Villajoyosa. (Height 1,8 in.)
