More model informationLocated within the Chatelherault Country Park, The Cadzow Oaks are a remnant of what is probably the most ancient surviving oak woodland in Scotland. They are part of a larger group of ancient oaks -800 yrs old. This group of oaks is impressive in both features and number, woodpeckers seem to agree as there is plenty of evidence (cavities) of their activity on these oaks.
The SCATTER project was funded by the Woodland Trust & carried out by researchers from UCL with logistical support & ancient oak expertise from The Ancient Tree Forum.
When visiting ancient trees, please be respectful to these living legends and their custodians.
