The gate leading from the robing room at the former Bishop’s Palace towards St Canice’s Cathedral. The scan is not great, because I really needed a ladder. If I can organise one, I will replace the scan. There are certain similarities to the South door into St Mary’s Church in Callan or the West door into Tullaroan Church. I would think that they were all made by the O’Tunney workshop (since confirmed by someone who knows a few more things). This one possibly under Bishop Milo (from 1528 to 1550), but I could be wrong. It is possible that it was moved here from a church or other ecclesiastic site.
It has converging chamfer stops at the bottom, just like the doorway in Callan.
