“Canopic jars were used by the ancient Egyptians during the mummification process to store and preserve the viscera of their owner for the afterlife.”

This is my own version of the jar of Hapi, the baboon-headed god, which contained the lungs and was protected by the goddess Nephthys.

I’ve created it during a two day Art Jam with the topic “Ancient ARTifacts” - it was fun to work on something small with only a limited amount of time ✨

Modeling & UVs are done with Maya, the textures are handpainted using 3D Coat and Photoshop.
