More model informationMonte de Ferrestelo, where the Castro de Santa Eulália or Olaia is located, has been classified as a Public Interest since 1954. It was the figueirense archaeologist António dos Santos Rocha (1853-1910), who here made the first excavations at the door of his land Christmas. Found monuments and objects that prove the settlement of the site since the Iron Age. The objects are exhibited at the Santos Rocha Municipal Museum, in Figueira da Foz. In the protected place there is still a small chapel. It is deactivated, except in the pilgrimage of July 24 in honor of Santa Eulalia. Situated on the hill, the view over the rice paddies of the Mondego River is breathtaking.
