Capela Santo Antônio
This chapel is dated back to the 17th century and is the tallest still standing baroque architecture from the state of São Paulo in Brazil. It’s located at the city of São Roque, just a few kilometers from São Paulo city.
It is part of a bigger property that once belonged to the portuguese settler Fernão Paes de Barros and right next to the chapel, used to have an ancient trade route that connected the interior of the country to São Paulo.
The chapel was built because of the strong devotion of Fernão Paes wife to saint Anthony. You can see more objects from the chapel digitalized here.
