More model informationThe bell from the Yugoslavian steamship, Carica Milica, which was built in Sunderland 1928. In November 1939, the vessel struck a mine laid by the German U-boat U-19 off the Suffolk coast with no lives lost. The bell was recovered as part of geophysical works associated with Galloper Offshore Windfarm and conserved by Wessex Archaeology. It is now on display at Sunderland Maritime Heritage (Sunderland, Tyne and Wear).
