More model informationA small carved figure possibly of the Romano-British god, Cocidius, carved on sandstone bedrock at Carr Hill Farm, Northumberland, UK. Photography by North of the Wall Tynedale Archaeology Group in 2017. The figure appears to have a spear in one hand and a shield in the other. For scale, a curved sheep’s horn lies on the grass top right. It has been suggested that the carvings below the figure are the letters C and M, thought to signify the equating of Cocidius with Mars, the Roman god of war and hunting.
