This underground quarry opens on a private property in Orleans - Department of Loiret - France. A staircase of 45 steps allows to descend to 10 meters of depth to reach the underground galleries. The limestone extracted from this quarry was certainly used to enrich the surrounding fields and gardens or to make lime. On this view, you can see a vaulted door overlooking an old water well with a total depth of 13 m. The end of this 13 m long gallery is closed by a wall of separation with the galleries of the neighbors. 42 photographs were processed for final rendering. I chose the Single Sided option in the Materials tool to obtain the transparency of the walls in order to take advantage of better points of view. Regarding the lighting, I used an LED torch (15 watts) providing a nice uniform illumination. The camera is a Fuji XM1 and the lens is a 10-24 mm zoom set to 10 mm (equivalent to 15 mm full size). The aperture was fixed at F11 and the speed at 6 seconds.
