Carter Collection Copper-Lined Flower Table3D ModelNoAI
This unique table was made by the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, for First Lady Rosalynn Carter’s African violets, orchids, and other plants that required watering. The table is designed with a four-inch border skirt around the top portion, and it is completely lined with a sheet of copper for waterproofing the wood below. The table is continuously used by Rosalynn for gardening and is located today on the enclosed porch of their Plains, Georgia residence. The piece was selected for 3D documentation by the USF CDHGI, with input and collaboration with the Carter family, the National Park Service, and the Friends of Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. Structured light 3D scanning documentation included color capture from the scanner, but additional images were also acquired to assist with texture development.
