A few years ago I did some work on a game for a small company called Pixel Constructor (www.PixelConstructor.com). The game was called “Better Off Tread”, and it was a cartoony arena combat game. I did not originally make this model, but I did reduce the polygon count from well over 50,000 to around 10,000. I also UVed and textured all of the assets in the game using a very small color swatch. This not only kept the game’s size down, it made the process very quick (essential given our limited time and budget).
The game isn’t currently available anywhere, but there has been some talk of revamping it with a different treatment. This was a lot of fun to work on, so here’s hoping!
