More model informationThere are three sets of dragon columns at the Lugang Longshan Temple. The style—muscular but modest—belongs to the early Ch’ing Dynasty. In Chinese folklore and mythology, the dragon was a creature of great power, with dominion over water and weather, and, for the worthy person, symbolic of strength and luck—it was also the official symbol of the Imperial state.
