Caspian tern skull (Hydroprogne caspia)

One good tern deserves another…and as the world’s largest tern, the Caspian tern (Hydroprogne caspia) is one extremely good tern! This specimen (OUVC 11504) was scanned on the OUµCT at a voxel size of 49.3 µm. The dataset and a 3D printable STL are freely available for download on MorphoSource: http://bit.ly/2m5t5is.
