Cast-Iron Starlite Parlor Stove3D ModelNoAI
During the Victorian era, cast iron stoves were replacing fireplaces, and there were many ornate designs for parlor stoves, many taking on motifs seen in architecture of the period with intricate scrolling and designs that incorporated building facade looks. The mid to late 1800s was the height of cast iron technology. Patented in 1867, this Detroit Stove Works piece dates to the 1870’s and was manufactured in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, MI. The stove is found in the Walsingham house at Heritage Village in Pinellas County, Florida. Measurements for the stove are: 25” Wide, 36” High, and 22” Long.
The Detroit Stove Works was advertised in the mid to late 1800s and early 1900s as the largest stove plant in the world. This “Starlight” No. 25 Parlor Stove would have been used to burn coal or coke and was considered very efficient at heating and used in parlor settings of homes.
