More model informationTrench 3 was dug across an area of geophysical disturbance interpreted as building rubble at the north end of the scheduled ancient monument at Castle Hill, Beaumont Leys near Leicester. The monument is thought to be a manorial complex associated with the Knights Hospitallers between c.1240 and 1484. It has never, previosuly, been excavated. Work was carried out as a community archaeological dig, as part of Leicester City Council’s Story of Parks project.
