More model informationCastle of Burwick, South Ronaldsay. A narrow neck of land with at least two ditches and three banks defends a penininsula of land to containing a settlement thought to be Iron Age or possibly later. The site is unstable due to the geology with the rock slipping towards the sea down stepply angled bedding planes. Slippage has revealed fragments of buildings half sectioned as the ground moves.
