This section of outcrop has a possible prehistoric cup mark and be found in the Catten Stones area of Shipley Glen, Baildon, West Yorkshire.
First noted by Mike Short, this was recorded ‘Catten Stone 01a’ by the CSI: Rombalds Moor project and uploaded to ERA in 2013. The team describe:
‘…The exposed area is 1.3m x 1.25m of approx rhomboidal shape. The exposure is flat, in common with other exposure in the immediate vicinity, and lies slightly below the surrounding terrain by approx 2 cm. The carvings consists of a single cup of 9cm diameter to the E of the centre of the exposed area, depth approx 4 cm.’
