More model informationThe cave-dwelling n°1 of Lama d’Antico, placed on one side of the “lama” - the typical landform of the area, created million years ago by the action of the water, which has excaveted the soft limestone creating this specific canal - represents the common way of living inside a rupestrian settlement in the Middle Ages in this area of Apulia. This cave, entirely excavated into the stone, featuring holes on the walls and on the ceiling, as well niches of different shape and size, because of its position and main features, has been used as dwelling by the inhabitant of the area, more likely between the 10th and 16th century A.D.
