More model informationA basic model of a Centriole (cellular organelle). A centriole is a bundle of microtubules connected by connective fibres; it is heavily involved in cell division for most Eukaryotic organisms by forming the spindle fibres used in cytokinesis. They are most commonly observed in a perpendicular arrangement, (arranged at 90 degrees from one another). The microtubules are made of a protein called “tubulin”. This model features 9 bundles of microtubular trios interconnected by radial fibres (connective fibres) and feet.
