More model informationThis large jar vessel is from the Moseley Homestead collections, a National Register of Historic Places site in Brandon, Florida. The jar came from South America, dating to c. 1850s, and was brought to Brazil (likely from Peru based on style) by a minister known to the Moseleys. Julia Daniels Moseley recorded that the piece was given as a gift to a friend and that in 1903, he gifted the piece to Julia. The piece also has the hand impressions of its Indigenous maker notably baked into the clay.
