The pyramid of King Unas, last king of the 5th Dynasty in Egypt, contain the earliest examples of the Pyramid Texts. These texts are inscribed in his burial chamber, antechamber and a portion of the sides of the horizontal passage at its inner end where it meets the antechamber. These texts are the world’s earliest religious literature and consists of 714 individual “spells,” 283 of which are inscribed in Unas’ pyramid at Saqqara, Egypt. The inscriptions are painted blue. The area around the sarcophagus in the western end of the burial chamber is carved and painted to represent the inside of a reed mat and wooden pole structure.
Created from 260 photographs taken under very poor lighting conditions (Canon EOS Rebel T71) using Metashape 1.6.1. Several area of the geometery were repared and remeshed using Blender 2.8. Texture is substandard because of the low lighting conditions. Photographed in January 2020.
