More model informationOne of two trial pits within the C12th Chapter House of Rochester Cathedral in 2019 (also see trench 1), in advance of a project proposal. At least one partially articulated burial was present, indicating a high-status medieval burial adjacent to the Chapter House west doorway. This was possibly the burial of a ‘tall person’ reported from the 1938 redevelopment of the cathedral cloisters. A skull had been placed atop the pelvis of the skeleton, probably during the 1938 excavations.
