More model informationThis large cut stone was once the weight in a press for making cheese. The parellel grooves on opposite sided show where it was carved to fit into the press, and allowed it to be lowered and raised onto said cheese.
Since then it has been carved with various graffiti and words all over, and now lies as part of the partially reconstructed St. Patrick’s Chapel in Heysham, Lancashire.
This model recorded by volunteers from Lancashire and District Heritage Group collaborating with CITiZAN, 2018.
