Postgraduate students in Urban Design & Planning and Cities & Global Development attend a field trip to Chennai, India as part of their studies. Students were encouraged to experiment with photogrammatic methods to capture a record of the area under study. As a very experimental approach to capturing large areas (especially using terrestrial techniques with a mixed source of photos from their various devices) we were unsure of the results from their attempts.
Two groups produced some impressive results based on the challenging context and less than perfect resources available to them.
Group 6 managed to capture the original Fishermen’s dwellings at the western end of Marina beach, complementing the model captured by Group 6 displaying the government built resettlement buildings at the eastern end.
