More model informationMedieval Chess Queen found at an archaeological excavation in 2014, in kv Eddan, Linköping, Sweden. The Chess piece is made of antler and is about 800 years old. The Queen has residues of its original red panting and she has a Crown on her head. The hair is braided and she sits on a decorated throne. She was found in an refilled well and is 6,5 cm in height and 3,5 cm in width. It dates back to the 13th century and can probably be a find connected to the adjacent medieval Francsiscan monastery which was founded in the late 1200:s. Photographs and model by Johan Stenvall.
