ENG Imperial emblem of the double-headed eagle located on Svermy Street in Kadaň. It commemorates the negotiations of the ‘Religious Peace of Kadaň’ between the Protestants and Ferdinand I, King of Bohemia and Archduke of Austria, on behalf of Emperor Charles V in 1534. Under the eagle we can read Plus Ultra (‘Beyond’ in Latin), the motto of the Emperor and now of the Kingdom of Spain.
