Cistern of Falaj al Sehamah 3D Model
The cistern of falaj al Sehamah was a part of a complex irrigation system and marks the endpoint of the more than ten kilometer chanel. The 19,6 m wide and 4,6 m deep cisterne could hold up to 1400 m³ of water and was build in the 13th century. The documentation of the irrigation system is a common project of the Aflaj Research Unit of the University of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman and the eScience-Center of the University of Tübingen in Germany.
For the documentation of the structure we used a DJI Inspire 2 drone and generated the modell in Agisoft Photoscan Pro. Retopoloy was done in ZBrush, normal and ambient occlusion maps were calculated in Substance Designer.
