Cistophorus of Hadrian. Obverse: Bust to the right. HADRIANVUS AVG III P P. Reverse: Facing statue of Artemis Ephesia, with supports. To the left and right of it a stag. DIANA EPHESIA. Silver; dm 28 mm; 10,68 gr.; 134-138 AD.
Cistophori were coins worth about three drachmas or three denarii in Hellenistic-Roman Asia Minor. They were in use from the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD.
