More model informationShows a Citelli Abscesses location and spread pattern on the right side of the skull and the healthy anatomy on the left side of the skull. Citelli abscesses normally originate on the tip of the mastoid process and progress down the posterior digastric and into the digastric triangle. Some sources report that citelli abscesses can also spread to the occipital region however due to conflicting information only the digastric spread is shown here. Mastoiditis is a pathology more common in children than adults which is why the abscesses have been depicted on the plastic model of a 14-month old skull.
