More model information

The Klingon D-7 Battlecruiser as seen on Star Trek: TOS. Her color, and markings match the original studio model. The D-7 appeared “battleship gray” in the Original Series, because of the poor filming techniques, and extremely bright lighting of 1960’s Television that effectively washed out most of her color. This is as how the D-7 studio model would look in a well lit room. You will notice that it is indeed very “green” (3 different shades of green). Except for the top of the hull which has a purple-ish hue. There were two studio models built. One for the filming model, and one to use as a template for AMT to make plastic model kits of her. Both were Identical. That same AMT model template later became a display piece on Gene Roddenburys desk. With the exact same color scheme seen here.

This ship is featured in the Homeworld: Remastered mod Star Trek: Continuum.
