Clay Figure (from Takasago Shell Mound: Late Jomon period, about 2,800 years ago)

A clay figurine with a ganimata with open sides. It was unearthed near a grave. They may have been used in rituals when burying people in graves.

土偶（高砂貝塚出土：縄文晩期約2,800年前）

脇をあけたガニマタの土偶。お墓の近くから出土しました。人をお墓に埋めるときに土偶を使って儀式を行ったのかもしれません。
