A clay figurine with an open-mouthed face. It was unearthed near a grave. The peculiar shape of the head is thought to represent a number of hair ties. Perhaps it was used as an amulet or an instrument for funerary rituals.
土偶(高砂貝塚出土:縄文晩期約2,800年前)
口をあけた顔の土偶。お墓の近くから出土しました。頭の形は髪を結んだ様子を表現していると考えられます。お守りや儀式の道具として使われていたのかもしれません。
