Clay vessel of Katakombna culture

Clay vessel, attributed to the Katakombna culture (III millennia BCE). It is intensively decorated with linear and circular incisions and corded ware ornaments on the body. Height = 14.2 cm. The archaeological context of this find (discovered in 1908) is unknown, though was certainly found near Bakhmut.

Artefact is stored at Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum.

The model was digitized in the course of the project “Preserving Ukrainian Legacy,” supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine (Kyiv) and the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation. It is a joint ownership of Dmytro Yavornitskiy Dnipro National Historical Museum, non-profit organization “CyArk” and NGO “Scientific Research Lab “Archaic”.
