More model informationThese wave ripples occur near the base of the Snapper Point Formation at Clear Point (just north of Pebbly Beach) on the south coast of New South Wales. They are a record of storm events on a shallow marine shelf in the southern Sydney Basin during the early Permian. They occur a little over metre above a layer bearing hundreds of Eurydesma hobartense fossils. This layer also has wave ripples and dropstones, which are a record of glaciation at he time.
