Clippy was found neglected and abandoned in a dilapidated stable. He was named Clippy as he was found with a head collar with a number of leadrope clips attached. Clippy was rehabilitated by the team at Glenda Spooner Farm, our rescue and Rehoming Centre in Somerset, and became the adoption pony. Clippy was the inspiration for the World Horse Welfare garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2017 which told his story and helped raise awareness of our work.
The master sculpture itself was created by acclaimed artist Judy Boyt based on the story of Lucas, a frozen and abandoned foal who was rescued by World Horse Welfare and has flourished into a beautiful sport horse.
