Cloos Fault, ahr region (GER)3D Model
The Cloos Fold (Cloos’sche Falte) is a geological formation in the Ahr Valley in the Eifel region of Germany. It was named after Hans Cloos, who studied it in the late 1940s and published the results in “Gang und Gehwerk einer Falte” (1950). The fold is an impressive example of the tectonic forces that acted during the geological history of the region. It is part of a larger system of folds and faults in the region and was formed by the movement of rock layers during mountain building.
