More model information

This was an april fools joke that used an existing environment I created for created for SteamVR, that placed a 30 foot Rancor reaching for the user when they put on their VR Helmet.

UploadVR interviewed me and did a story on it which got over 165,000 views, making it the best April fools joke I’ve ever done by far. https://uploadvr.com/rancor-cloud-city-behind-vrs-best-april-fools-prank-yet/

Initially the Rancor was modelled and textured in about 20 hours using Zbrush and Substance Painter for this joke, later I updated the model and gave it a proper treatment retopology/rigging etc.

The Rancor looks a little more hunched or lurching, this was done to help maintain an eyeline with the user in VR.

The user is only meant to be located on platform and metal beam in the environment so there is very little texturing on the back bridges and building as it was unnecessary for the environment.
