Shown in this model is the Crois Chnoca Breaca standing stone, it is situated on a 6ft high mound and is believed to be prehistoric. The standing stone is not what really caught my attention here, I was curious about the age and function of the nearby stone walled enclosure, cut by stone wall and fence of the later boundary. the enclosure is slightly sunk into the ground, I wondered if it might have been for sheltering livestock. Any thoughts from those viewers who are local or are familiar with the area would be welcome.
