Ninteteenth century navigation beacon remains at Coffins Patch Reef in Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Part of a system of unlit beacons designed to warn ships away from the hazardous Florida Reef. Storms repeatedly knocked this beacon down leading to several generations of beacons on the seafloor.
