This artifact was excavated at Fort Fair Lawn, South Carolina. It is a badly worn English penny, from the reign of King George III. The date is unknown. English pennies of this sort were primarily copper, and produced by Matthew Boulton at the Soho Mint in Birmingham starting in 1797.
