Полковник Кавалергардского полка Костюм и актер: Дмитрий Кардогин, Клуб исторического бального танца “Виват”

In 1724, during the coronation of Catherine I, the Chevalier Guard Regiment, consisting of 50 people, was created as an honorary guard of the empress. Over the course of the 18th century, this formation had been liquidated and re-created several times. On January 11, 1800, Paul I ordered to reorganize the Chevalier Guard Corp into a regiment “in the same position as the Life Guard regiments.” “For court meetings and balls,” the military officers of the Cavalier Guards were given a red-colored uniform.
