Combination Clasp

• Rationale : to reduce the effect of the Class I lever in distal extension situations, a flexible component in the “resistance arm” is employed.
• Components : a wrought-wire retentive clasp arm and a cast reciprocal clasp arm
• Wire Type: 0.7 or 0.8 mm round stainless steel wire or gold alloy wires
• Lab Procedures : Wrought-wire direct retainer arms may be attached to the restoration by embedding a portion of the wire in a resin denture base, by soldering to the fabricated framework, or by casting the framework to a wire embedded in the wax pattern
