Conglomerates and carbonatic turbidites, Spain3D Model
Location: Cala del Cuervo, Las Negras, Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain Longitude: -2.001354 Latitude: 36.872672
The model shows two units: a basal coarser unit, with rounded volcanic clasts and rhodoliths, and carbonatic turbidites above it. The transition from basal unit to turbidites is marked by the disappearance of rhodoliths and the appearance of mudstone/grainstone layers. The basal unit sits unconformably on top of the volcanic basement, which is just a few meters below sea level at this location. Annotations on the model shows some of the lithological features with a scale (distance between the center of two circles is 25cm).
